Dr. Sarwat Hussain
Dr. Sarwat Hussain is the founding Chairman of Global Institute of Healthcare Quality (GIHQ). In April 2018, he established Global Institute of Healthcare Quality (GIHQ), to initiate a healthcare quality movement in Pakistan and the USA with the intent to introduce a culture of Quality Improvement and patient safety in Pakistan.
He is a medical graduate of King Edwards Medical College-Pakistan and currently a Professor at University Massachusetts, Medical School in the USA. He is the Division Chief Global Radiology, and a member of the Committee on International Radiology Education (CIRE) by the Board of Directors of the Radiological Society of North America.
He has held leadership positions in academic Medicine in the USA, UK, the Middle East and Pakistan for over 40 years. In this period he has served to establish academic departments of radiology and their Quality Improvement Programs. His expertise lies in teaching, research and in nurturing sublime concepts into reality for the benefit of the humanity, such as introducing a new Sub-speciality of ‘global Radiology’, in the field of Medical Imaging.
He has served as senior faulty at Harvard, Boston, the Aga Khan and King Saud Universities in the past. He has authored over 200 original scientific articles, book chapters, posters and abstracts and had several awards and honors. He was awarded Silver Medal as an undergraduate.
Dr. Hussain is planning to expand operation in Pakistan, East Asia and the Middle East, and forge an affiliation with international leaders in Healthcare Quality Improvement.
Dr. Uzma Anjum
Dr. Uzma Anjum is the Chief Executive Officer and Lead Consultant of the Global Institute of Healthcare Quality (GIHQ).
She is a medical graduate, a diploma holder in Healthcare System Management and a Master degree in Public Health. She has served as a technical advisor and trainer on safe blood banking and transfusion at GIZ (Gesellschaftfür Internationale Zusammenarbeit).
She is the Certified Auditor for QMS ISO 9001-2015(IRCA). She has attended the certification course on healthcare quality improvement from University of Bath, UK.
She has over 20-year experience with Pakistan’s healthcare services and international development organizations. Her expertise lies in quality control and quality assurance programming, particularly in the areas of pathology and safe collection, screening, testing, storage, rational use and safe transfusion practices.
She has received training on “Effective Training Design and Management” from the International Academy for Cooperation (AIZ) Bangkok.
She has developed countrywide working groups to guide the processes for the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), standard curriculum for blood transfusion services and has supported for the preparation of guidelines and tools for haemovigilance, clinical governance and blood transfusion inspection tools.
She has served as senior medical officer and coordinator in medicine, gynecology and pathology at internationally accredited institutions like Shifa International Hospital, Ali Medical Centre and Excel Labs. Pvt. Ltd. Dr. Uzma has the honor of representing Pakistan on the international forum of ECO Blood Safety Network in Azerbaijan as an invited guest. She aims to continue her mission to support and improve healthcare quality in Pakistan through the platform of GIHQ.
Saulat Hussain is the Chief Operating officer of Global Institute of Healthcare Quality (GIHQ). He is a Human Resource professional with three decades of HR Management experience including fifteen years as Head of HR Group of the largest fertilizer company in Pakistan. Saulat Hussain holds diplomas in ‘Leadership’ and ‘Management Development’ from the University of Michigan in addition to multiple training courses from Harvard Business School, Harvard Kennedy School, Australian Management College, Ross Business School University of Michigan and Foster School of Business University of Washington. In line with his interest in Quality, he led the HR department of FFC plant site to ISO 9002 certification, a first in Pakistan. Saulat has acquired a deep insight of the mindset of Pakistani workforce and has devised methods/tools to optimize their potentials and output. One of the many accolades to his credit is the development and training of the entire management staff, in the Performance Appraisal System for his enterprise. He has been a part time professor of ‘Organization Design and Analysis’ and ‘Performance Appraisal System’ to MBA students at Bahria University.
After completion of his regular employment, Saulat has successfully completed Restructuring of Board of Investment (BOI) Pakistan-a USAID project as a consultant followed by establishing the Human Resource Department of a private company running an international airport (Sialkot International Airport) in Pakistan.
Haider Mehdi, a founder member and Lead Consultant at Global Institute of Healthcare Quality. He is MBA from Boston University, with MA in Economics from the Punjab University and a PROSCI certified Change Manager.
Haider Mehdi, with an experience of more than three decades, is a highly accomplished Change Leader, Business Consultant, Corporate leader, Start up Entrepreneur and Academic. He successfully delivered management consulting to 46 clients in the Automobile; Academic, Banking, Cable, Fintech, TV, Chemicals, Education, Internet, Retail, Telecom, Logistics, Print and Electronic media and the Oil & Gas sectors. He is a Successful business leader with in depth understanding and experience of business strategy, planning and implementation, having led the business launch of a mobile telecom operation and an automobile company in a new market. Highly successful engagements in Organizational Change Transformation, Sales & Service Effectiveness, Technology implementation, Leadership Coaching and Learning and Development. Developed and deployed a proprietary Sales Activity tracking technology workflow platform called Sales MeXimiZer. Delivered Organization wide Change engagements in fast paced, ambiguous environments, involving high degree of people, process and technology change and successfully implemented sales technology platforms.
Haider Mehdi is highly adept at working with Executive leadership to first line contributors from vision development to post implementation sustainability and stakeholders in HR, L&D, OD, Operations, Technology, Communications, Marketing, Product Management, Customer Service and other stakeholders, to develop and implement Change plans. Established 7 starts ups. An advertising agency, A cable TV company, A search engine company, A business consulting practice, a poverty alleviation micro finance fund, an internet based free education learning company and an Internet TV company. He assisted in establishing the MIT Entrepreneurship Centre in UAE.
Dr. Munazza Haris
Dr. Munazza Haris is the Lead Consultant at Global Institute of Healthcare Quality (GIHQ). She is a medical graduate with a Master degree in Public Health, holds Professional Diploma in Health System Management and Fellowship of the Royal Society for Public Health (UK).
She has over two decades of experience in research, monitoring, management and training programs. Working in liaison with government sector, she has managed, conducted, monitored and evaluated several large research grants. Further, she has managed the implementation of maternal, newborn & child health program, lady health worker program and community midwifery training program. She has led the training section for independent Monitoring of Polio campaigns. She has been part of accreditation process of family planning services by community health workers. Dr. Munazza has conducted research studies in maternal health & nutrition as a lead investigator. She led SRHR program for the young people, a joint project of private sector healthcare providers and international donor organizations. She has experience in developing tools for program evaluation and in preparing reports of qualitative research following data collection and analysis. She had the honor of presenting her data at national and international meetings by oral presentations and posters.
Faiza Rizvi is a UK Based entrepreneur with extensive experience in Public Policy and the Healthcare and Social Care Sector.
She has been able to flourish her group of companies within the competitive market of the UK. Being the CEO of a leading UK Based Medical Recruitment Company she has lead and overseen the supply of clinical and non-clinical staff to the NHS, Her Majesty’s Prison Service, Ministry of Defence and other Private Sector Healthcare Providers since 2003.
Due to her extensive knowledge and standing within the Healthcare Recruitment Sector she was invited to join as an advisor to the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) UK in 2011. Since then she remains the only female and non-Caucasian Executive member on this Board. REC is the trade body for Recruitment and Employment advising the UK Government on Recruitment and Employment Legislation. It is the main body responsible for supporting the UK Cabinet in the Procurement of Healthcare Personnel.
As a provider of Health and social care services she is fully accredited by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) UK. The CQC is the sole scrutinising body for healthcare all over the UK and regulates the provision of high quality Primary and Secondary Healthcare Services. After going through a highly scrutinised, competitive and robust inspection by the CQC she was approved as a CQC registered Health Manager.
She is recognised as a strong figurehead amongst the British Pakistani female community and has been a founder board member and lead of the World Congress of Overseas Pakistani’s where she has been instrumental in overseeing a number of high profile events.
