Health Awareness Session on Simple Steps Towards Quality Healthcare

Global Institute of Healthcare Quality recently joined hands with Fauji Fertilizer Co. Ltd (FFC) for redefining and creating awareness about “Simple Steps towards Quality of Healthcare” for Employees and their families. In this regard two sessions were held with the employees of Fauji Fertilizer Co. Ltd, the first on 17th July at Marketing division, Lahore and the Second on 8th August 2019, at SONA Towers, Rawalpindi. 

The awareness session focused on nutrition, hygiene, simple steps which can prevent us from contracting diseases, balanced diet and workout plans which can have positive effects on our lives and health. The health talk in the given perspective was delivered by health experts of GIHQ – Dr. Uzma Anjum and Dr. Munazza Haris. Whereas operational coordination was handled  by Mr. Shahid and Mr. Omer Nadeem from FFC.

Around 125 employees including personnel from the Senior and Middle Management participated in the Health Awareness Sessions. Discussion was focused around the importance of Clean Hands and Nutrition aspects – leading to a healthy life. The session was delivered through discussions, a power point presentation and informative videos.  Although almost everyone thought that they have a fair idea that hands should be washed “properly” however unfolding the “proper” aspect of hand washing was well received by the participants.

For keeping the body charged with nutritious elements, staying alert and efficient, the participants were enlightened regarding different aspects of nutrition including balanced diet and causes of malnutrition in children and women of reproductive age. Latest facts and figures from National Nutrition Survey of Pakistan – 2018 were also shared with the participants. 

The queries were responded to the satisfaction of the audience and for their understanding the session was led in English as well as in Urdu. The management of FFC and participants appreciated the knowledge shared and had queries regarding prevention of infections and different nutritional aspects. The queries that could be responded within the allocated time were dealt during the session, however for the rest they were given the contacts for further queries.
